We finally got off the island this morning for our weekly
shore leave on a cool and overcast morning. We went to the Guppy via the dinghy
since we had to leave it for Ken to use when he arrived later in the morning.
There were no Wednesday warriors to replace us but Ken arrived in his boat with
two workers who were going to work on the grout between the bricks in the
buildings on the island. Ken would have to give tours and man the gift shop
today – hopefully he wouldn’t be too swamped with visitors. We dropped off the recycle
stuff and headed for Cyndy’s for breakfast. She so kindly invited us over and
we had a scrumptious breakfast of eggs, bacon, English muffins and watermelon.
It was nice to sit with her in her home and chat and share a meal. We of course
gave hugs and kisses to Hinkley. Cyndy went off to work and we went off to Bath
to the office to drop off our sales stuff and pick up more inventory for the
gift shop. It was nice to see Catherine again since she was gone on vacation
the last 2 weeks. We got a few grocery items at Brackets and then Fred dropped
me off at the laundry while he ran more errands. We got everything folded and
then went off to pick up my Seguin pendant in Harpswell. Carole did a fine

with a little Seguin Island cut from a map and mounted under a clear varnish
with tiny pieces of sea glass that I found at the cove that are cobalt blue and
Kelly green. It is very unique and personal treasure to remember my stay at
Seguin. We then drove over to Brunswick to the Seadog Brewery where we met up
with Jane and Tony from north of Detroit area for lunch – Fred’s cousins. It
was so good to see them again and they were so excited to see us and
anticipating getting to the island. We had a pleasant lunch alongside a swollen
and dramatic flowing river. After lunch Fred and I got the cold items for our
groceries and Jane and Tony went to the Popham dock to meet us for the ride
back to Seguin. We had a pleasant ride back to the island in sunshine and with
dramatic billowing clouds over the mainland. It was

high tide and Ethan got a
bit closer to the shore so we wouldn’t have to row so far back with the dinghy.
Fred and I went first with a load full and I managed to hop right out when we
beached on the rocky shore. I held the dinghy in the waves as Fred unloaded.
Fred made two more trips to get more stuff and Jane and Tony. We all made it
safe and sound and proceeded to haul all the stuff up to the tram. I went ahead
to check on Sac and get ready to receive the tram with our stuff. All went well
with the tram and everything got unloaded and put away. We were all very tired
from our long exciting day and hard work of transporting our stuff. Jane and
Tony got their first look at the house and lighthouse and the magnificent views
all around the island. Some fog moved in and they got to hear Tooter start
tooting. We gave them a nice tour of the lighthouse and relaxed in the living
room. We were all so tired that we didn’t even eat any dinner. Everyone
trickled off to bed and I stayed up to write the blog and eventually got so
tired that I too retired for the evening. It had cleared a bit and the stars
were shining bright as was Beauty. Her constant vigil so comforting as I
drifted quickly off to sleep with the picture of her faraway light shining
bright as the ferry took me both to and from her island home.
